On our way to the Pacific coast, we decided to take a detour of a few hours in order to see Monteverde. The road up the side of the mountain was narrow and dusty. Because of the way Jason was trying to avoid the rocks, potholes, and other cars it felt like the back of the car was sliding out. Jason assured us, though, that we were not going to slip off the very close side of the mountain, so Cindy closed her eyes in order to feel safer while Luciano videoed the drive.
Once we arrived in Monteverde, we realized that it was too late to do a tour in the forest and navigate the roads afterward. We spent the evening of the 4th of July in our room because it was the only place that wasn't rainy. The rain became a drizzle, so we walked to dinner with the Blandford's matching rain jackets that they had "spent too much money on" in tow. After we had walked back, Jason realized he had left his rain jacket, and by the time they returned it was gone. Now Cindy had to get their money's worth for both of them.
