Nodules

So, I just found out that I have 2 nodules on my thyroid. According to the internet, only 5% are cancerous. I'm waiting to find out that I am part of the 95%. When I told Joci, she asked if she could pray for me. One of the things she prayed for was peace. I feel that God has blessed me with that. The knowledge that this could not go how I want it to is still in my head, but I am no longer scared or worried.

Today at church, I asked some friends, Kelly and Betsy, to pray for healing. I really just want the nodules to simply go away regardless of what the biopsy reveals. I know the Lord has the power to make that happen, I just wonder if he will.

With a little boy in my tummy, I have often thought that for some reason God chose this baby for us. It is terrible timing for us; we are not financially ready; I'm due at the exact time I used to think i would never want to have a baby; we were not "safe" for 7 years and never got pregnant, then all of a sudden, our minds started to change and the next month we were pregnant; and now the possibility of needing surgery.

Perhaps this is one of the reasons hat this baby and this time were chosen for us.

This sweet little boy is inside of me. A couple of times during the
ultrasound he moved his arm like he was waving at us. It was so cute! He was constantly moving throughout the time we were watching him, but he stubbornly wouldn't move in the direction that the technician was trying to guide him.

I am currently at 20 weeks, the half-way mark. It's crazy how fast the time flies, and yet it feels like it is taking forever. I'm waiting to meet this little person, and I'm literally thinking about him every minute of the day. That makes it seem like it is taking forever!

My Tourist Day

We live in a destination city with so much to do,but Luciano is constantly studying.  I decided that I am not going to waste the opportunity to see Boston even if I have to go alone. I became a tourist. On my first tourist day, I started out by stopping at a bakery for lunch and a Boston Cream Pie. It was delicious. Then I went to the bar that the show Cheers was modeled after. The bar tender and the door guy knew my name. I guess it's true...everybody does know your name. Or maybe it was because I was the only girl in there alone.
I did make friends with other tourists, though. But of course, we had the same chit-chat that reminds you that they aren't  real friends.

After finishing my beer and leaving my friends behind, I toured the Boston Public library. This is the most beautiful Library I have ever seen. Not only is it beautiful, but it has kept me entertained. I frequently check out books from it. However, the part with the books is not so beautiful. It is more akin to a larger version of the the Placentia Public Library(not even as nice as the Yorba Linda Library).

It was a fun afternoon, and there is still a huge city out there to see. So come visit and you can be a tourist with me.

10/30/10 Cindy's coming

Cindy Blandford is coming to visit and she got a hotel right at Faneuil Hall, Cindy, The first picture is of the Faneuil Halls area, and the other pictures are looking back at that area.. I can't wait till you come!

10/29/10 Family night

This is one of the first times that Luciano and I Skyped. My family all gets together on Thursday nights for "family night", so Jared set up the computer we were able to talk with the whole family. I loved it. If you're reading this and I haven't talked yo you on Skype, Let's talk.

On our way home from one of the churches we tried one day , we noticed an amazing Futon style chair and mattress sitting right next to a dumpster. It looked like someone wanted to get rid of it but was hoping someone else would want it and take it.. The mattress and frame matched perfectly with our apartment and it looked very clean, so we grabbed it. We were soooo excited. I kept thinking "this is great, if anyone comes to visit, we'll have a bed for them"
Luciano carried the mattress on his head because it was so heavy, and  I lugged the frame home for a few blocks. When we got home, we promptly set it up and sat down on it to see it we liked it. After a few minutes of lying/sitting there, I started to notice a smell that didn't belong. Urine. It was the mattress. But, we could keep the frame, at least. Then I started smelling the frame. The pee had soaked in. My guess it...too much beer. It ended up in our dumpster.

This is 1 slice of pizza at my favorite pizza place, Ernestos. Apparently, according to Jocelyn and Ryan Maas, it's better than Reginas.

10/9 I have a computer again

So, Luciano dropped his laptop and broke the screen, which sucks considering our heater broke in our Placentia place and air conditioner in our Newport place.  These big expenses were not planned for in the budget. However, I am making a little money, so it off sets the expenses. Since Lucho needs a computer, we bought him a new one, and I get to use his old one. We brought an LCD projector with us to Boston, so my screen is more commonly known as my bedroom wall. No complaints here, though. This feels like a blessing after not having one.

So, in case you wanted to ask, the jeans dumpster shopping that Luciano videoed was not staged. I didn't know he was even watching me. Although a little embarrassed, I had to include it because it made me laugh so hard.

Also, I turned down the Marriott position. Unfortunately none of you will be getting a discount from me.

Currently, It is about as cold here as the winter in Newport. We keep telling ourselves that it can't get much worse than this. Apparently, though, it does.

9/20/10 One of my Favorite Activities

One of my favorite past times here in Boston is asking Luciano, "Hey, do you remember the guy who..." There are so many people here who do shocking unfriendly/rude things.

1. The screamer: you already know about her
2. Our neighbors downstairs:who have since had another party where they were shooting the dumpster until 4:30 A.M.
3.Chicken Noodle Soup Guy: We stopped at a little place that said "homemade chicken soup" on the window. As we were ordering I asked if the chicken soup is good. the response "Well, It's homemade" I didn't know what that was supposed to mean so I was just silent. He ended up bringing me a sample, I believe so that he wouldn't have to talk to me. It was literally the best chicken soup I had ever had.  I told him what I thought of it. His response, "Oh"
4. Grocery Store Man: I was in our local grocery walking up and down the aisles. As I got to the front of the middle aisle, the area right behind the check out lines, I didn't look both ways, and just walked to my right toward the next aisle. A second later I felt something ram my ankles so hard I nearly fell "Oh Sh  " came bursting from my mouth. I looked back to see what had plowed into me. It was a man sitting on one of those riding carts with the handle bars. I felt we were equally to blame since I wasn't totally paying attention so I said, "I am so sorry". The man gave a slow blink, made a face like my dad used to make when i would spill milk, and pushed the accelerator on his cart without saying a word.
5. Girl asking for directions: Luciano and I had just moved in and we were out walking in our area. A group of girls were looking for something and one turned to me and asked, "hey , do you know where Church Street is?". I said "I don't. Sorry about that" as I was walking away, she told me, "F   off"

I'm sure there will be more situations to come.
